Specifications
A cleaver strike is not a load a bench top should take. The butcher block carries a thick polyethylene slab on a stainless base: it absorbs the blow, doesn't splash, and unlike a wooden block draws no moisture. The square section allows work from every side, and the block can be turned to renew the surface as it wears. The open base leaves the underside fully reachable for cleaning.
